What Should I Do?
We all know that our country is changing quickly; and not necessarily in a good way. The constitution is being considered an out of date, monolithic parchment, the media has chosen sides and is actively promoting the agenda of that side, and members of congress are avoiding paying their taxes while overseeing tax laws that make sure we comply or using the congressional gym to send out porn. But what are we doing? Have we checked out? Are we more content to see who will be the next American Idol or who Donald Trump will fire next? Why are we not more engaged in the things that matter; our education system, our culture, our government? Are we not concerned that our President is acquiring more and more power for himself and making congress irrelevant? Did you hear that House Speaker John Boehner has issued a request to the President to justify our military action in Libya by this weekend? Do you know why? Did you know that our President is trying to justify his decision to begin military operations in Libya because of a NATO resolution? Do you know what NATO is? Do you care? So, the answer to the question of the title, "What Should I Do?" is to first get informed. Stop being distracted by things that don't matter and start engaging in the things that do. I promise you that in five years, who won American Idol will not matter, but the actions being taken by Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke will. Join me as we explore what is going in our country and how we can act together to prepare for the changes and make some changes of our own. I promise you, it will be a "thrilling" ride.
